I'm sure you've seen Umair Hague's piece Facebook's Profound Strategic Error but in it Haque links to a post by Paul Graham Be Good that really caught my attention.
I end up talking with young people in Uganda. Sometimes the assumption is the road to a better future is through charitable work; or more specifically to work with a Western charity. In the process often what it really seems they want to do is a business. There's a real ingrained assumption that business is evil. The essay was really encouraging to me.
